Lignovations has developed a technology that converts waste from agriculture and wood processing into high-quality ingredients. Lignin, a main component of this waste, is broken down into very small particles in order to realise its full potential. It offers benefits such as sun protection, antioxidant protection and natural colouring. Lignin serves as a sustainable and natural alternative to conventional chemicals and is suitable for a wide range of applications, including cosmetics, agriculture, adhesives, textiles, packaging, pharmaceuticals and coatings. The first commercially available product, LignoGuard®, is a cosmetic ingredient that will be used worldwide.

About the company
Lignovations, based in Klosterneuburg, was founded in 2021 as a spin-off of TU Wien. The company converts agricultural and wood-processing residue, in particular lignin, into high-quality ingredients. Based on environmentally friendly technology, the lignin value is enhanced as an important part of the biomass value chain.
