What makes your innovation unique?
The Cell-Chip-Group at Vienna University of Technology is revolutionising biomedical research by advancing lab-on-a-chip systems through the synergy of technology and biology. A miniaturised tendon model is used to investigate the molecular causes of inflammation caused by repetitive strain (e.g. among professional athletes or musicians).

Advantages
• Identification of previously unknown molecular causes of tendon diseases such as tendinitis
• Development of preventive solution and therapy approaches such as breaks and targeted exercises
• Reduction of animal testing due to the innovative mini-tendon model
